PROJECT TITLE: The Influence of Green Consumer Attitudes and Behaviors on Preferences for Environmentally Sustainable Primary Care Services
HUMAN RESEARCH ETHICS COMMITTEE APPROVAL NUMBER: H-2021-020
PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR: Ms. Lorraine Caruso
STUDENT RESEARCHER: Dr. Katherine Zippel
STUDENT’S DEGREE: MBA
Dear Participant,
You are invited to participate in the research project described below.
What is the project about?
This research project focuses on understanding how people's attitudes and behaviours toward green consumption influence their preferences for environmentally sustainable primary care services. In simpler terms, we want to find out if consumers who care about the environment are more likely to choose healthcare services that are also environmentally friendly.
We aim to investigate whether there is a significant connection between how positively people feel about green brands and their willingness to use sustainable healthcare services.
We also want to find out if individuals who identify as LOHAS (Lifestyle of Health and Sustainability) consumers are more inclined to prefer environmentally sustainable primary care services compared to others.
By conducting this research, we hope to gain a deeper understanding of consumer preferences in the healthcare sector. This knowledge could help healthcare providers develop services that better meet the needs of environmentally conscious consumers, ultimately promoting sustainable practices in healthcare.
Who is undertaking the project?
This project is being conducted by Katherine Zippel. This research will form the basis for the capstone research project for the Master of Business Administration in Health Administration degree at the University of Adelaide under the supervision of Dr. Margee Hume and Dr. Colin Sharp.
Why am I being invited to participate?
You are being invited as you are an adult who attends a private general practice on the Eyre Peninsula.
Participants under 18 years will be excluded from the projects.
What am I being invited to do?
You are being invited to complete a survey on your views on environmentally sustainable lifestyle practices and how this relates to your preference for health products and services.
How much time will my involvement in the project take?
The survey will take approximately ten minutes to complete.
Are there any risks associated with participating in this project?
There are no foreseeable risks.
What are the potential benefits of the research project?
By participating in this study, you will contribute to a growing body of research that can inform healthcare providers and policymakers about consumer preferences for sustainable services. This knowledge could influence future practices and policies in primary care, promoting sustainability.
The findings of this research may help healthcare providers and organizations tailor their services to align with consumer preferences for sustainability. As a result, the community could benefit from enhanced access to environmentally friendly healthcare options, contributing to broader public health and environmental goals.
Can I withdraw from the project?
Participation in this project is completely voluntary. If you agree to participate, you can withdraw from the study at any time.
